Eeeeek, Lyndsey and Drew’s wedding day is gracing the blog today!
From start to finish and beyond… These two have been a dream to work with! They are kind, compassionate, and not to mention, just so fun to be around! Lyndsey and I connected around a week or so after the proposal when one of my other favorite brides, Erin, recommended my work to her, and I am forever grateful that she connected us. Side note – I absolutely love and adore my brides, and the little tribe that they all share!
Lyndsey and Drew met at Eastern Illinois University. Lyndsey told me that she knew from the minute she saw him that he was the one… On move in day during sophomore year, Lyndsey and her family were out to lunch and Drew and a friend happened to be out to lunch at the same place, too. Drew waved hello to Lyndsey – they had always known of each other at EIU – and whispered to his friend that he was going to date that girl one day. Fast forward to these two meeting out one night, and the rest is truly history! After dating for four years, Drew proposed to Lyndsey on the last weekend in July 2017 when she thought they were celebrating their move and new life together in the Champaign area… But little did Lyndsey know that Drew had other plans! In sheer shock and surprise, Lyndsey said “YES” in front of their dearest family and friends.
Friends, I’m telling you that this couple is something special. I love them so!
Over the last year, I have sincerely loved my time spent with these two… From FaceTime dates to phone calls, emails, and texts to coffee dates to their fall engagement session and more. Each moment that I spend with these two, I find myself smiling and feeling thankful to know them. It’s like we’ve been friends for so much longer. They are vibrant human beings with a zest for life and a big love for each other and their people. And I know everyone that loves them would agree!
On the morning of their wedding, Kyle and I excitedly arrived to Lyndsey’s childhood home in Flossmoor. The girls were milling around the house, giggling, and enjoying the morning together. The excited energy was crazy contagious! Soon, it was time for Kyle to join the guys and for the girls to finish getting ready. All morning, we all agreed that we were incredibly thankful for a beautiful summer day in late June with clear skies and NO rain. Yes, the “real feel” on this wedding day was 100+ degrees, but it was so so worth it!
As the morning rolled into the early afternoon before the ceremony, I loved seeing Lyndsey and her sweet bridesmaids along with Drew and his groomsmen all dressed and ready for the day. Talk about a good looking group! They all braved the heat for me and even with smiling faces, and before we knew it, the ceremony was here! My favorite moment during the ceremony was Drew’s reaction when he saw his soon-to-be wife walking down the aisle… Pure joy and love and excitement exuded from him! This is a moment these two and their loved ones will never forget.
After the ceremony, the rest of the day flew by! We loved braving the heat a little more for fun bridal party photos at Glenwoodie Golf Club, and of course, we took a little time to sneak these two out of the reception for some romantic sunset photos… My favorite thing! And then it was time for these two to dance the night away and celebrate with those that they love.
Throughout this wedding day, I was inspired by this couple. Their passion. Their love. Their bond. Their people. Their celebration. Their style. Every part of this day was perfectly perfect for Lyndsey and Drew. From the ceremony at Lyndsey’s childhood church to the cinnamon rose bridesmaids dresses paired with gray suits to the Kendra Scott touches throughout the day to the florals filled with greenery to the best men (Drew’s brothers) and maid/matron of honor (Lyndsey’s sisters) to the ice cream late night snack. Every part was so Lyndsey and Drew and so very wonderful.
Lyndsey and Drew… THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts! We love you two and are thankful that you asked us to document these big moments in your life together! Cheers to your married years!
