Hey, I'm Kara (care-uh)!
As soon as we meet, you'll learn that I love to talk, and we'll most definitely become friends. It's just what we do around here! If one thing is for sure, wedding and family photography are about so much more than pretty photos – I promise you that!
When I’m not photographing weddings and families throughout Kankakee County and Chicagoland or editing from my home office, you can find me recharging my batteries by enjoying married life with my husband Kyle, spoiling our puppies Georgie & Jett, spending time with family, exploring breweries, and gardening in our backyard.
I'm passionate about documenting love stories and families. My photography style focuses on natural light and is timeless, genuine, and candid. It’s my hope that my photos remind you how deeply you love and how deeply you are loved by those around you.
ONCE UPON A TIME
When my sister got engaged and I invested in my first camera, I started to experience the joy of documenting the beginning of a family’s story as I photographed her engagement session – my very first session.
After that? Wedding and family photography kinda became my jam!
Looking back, I was always that little girl who loved to play dress-up and flip through wedding albums and family photos, so it all makes sense that this is what I get to call my job and my joy... These days, you'll often find me in my pink office chair editing photos while wearing something comfy with two snuggly puppies at my feet!
It's inspiring to photograph and celebrate couples and families like you.

My husband Kyle and I are high school sweethearts and have been together since 2008 – heart eyes!
I photographed my first session in 2010 and my first wedding in 2011.
I’m obsessed with our dogs Georgie & Jett.
Kyle and I started gardening in the summertime after a few years of marriage and love our little backyard garden.
I’m an aunt to five nieces and nephews and love being Auntie Kara to those kiddos.
I could spell Czechoslovakia at a super young age. Thanks, Grandma!
I own more graphic tees and Lululemon leggings than I should really admit, IYKYK.
My hubby and I first discovered mojitos on our Puerto Rican honeymoon… And we’ve been hooked ever since – we even grow tons of mint in our garden!
DID WE JUST BECOME FRIENDS?!
Reading fills my cup up & I read 57 books last year!
