Wow, where to begin?! Kenzie and Ross’s destination wedding at Sandals Ochi in Jamaica was a DREAM!
At the beginning of February, Kyle and I had the honor of traveling to Jamaica to document Kenzie and Ross’s wedding day. We not only documented their wedding day but also got to spend a few extra days with the couple and their closest family and friends on the beach. Their loved ones welcomed us in from the start. By the end of the week, we truly felt like we were part of the family. This destination wedding day was the best note to start our 2022 wedding season on, that’s for sure!

From the Couple
Ross and I met our sophomore year in high school and shared so much in common. We’ve been together ever since! Ross and our children, Kason & Tate, all three proposed to me Christmas day 2020. Ross and I stay super busy between working full-time jobs and most importantly, parenting our two little loves! We enjoy boating, gardening, all things outside, and spending lots of time with our family. If we get a night out, we enjoy going to different wineries and breweries! We love to travel somewhere warm in the winters, and we always head to the beach. We have two boys ages 1 & 4, and a Goldendoodle puppy, Millie.
The Wedding Day
Kenzie and Ross’s wedding day started out with the ladies and guys getting ready for the day ahead. Everyone was on-site at the resort, Sandals Ochi, which was gorgeous and picturesque everywhere you looked. We started the day by styling and documenting details (my favorite!) and photographed the couple’s finishing touches as they prepared for the day. Everyone felt relaxed and excited to celebrate all day long!
Both Kenzie and Ross had a few nervous jitters, but those quickly disappeared as soon as they saw each other at the first look overlooking the ocean. From the moment of their first look and throughout the entire day, there was something so serene and peaceful about being next to the ocean. I know this will be an everlasting memory and experience for Kenzie, Ross, and their loved ones.
After wandering the resort for wedding party photos, it was time to make our way to the ceremony. This was one of my very favorite parts (of many!) of the day! Kenzie and Ross chose to get married in the over-the-water chapel at Sandals Ochi. In 2021, they visited the same resort and fell in love with the scenery and over-the-water chapel… Kenzie told us she knew that’s where they would get married! So, one year later, here we were – getting ready to document their wedding day in that very spot.
Kenzie and Ross shared a short and sweet ceremony in the chapel before kicking off the evening reception. Gosh, I think these two win the award for some of the most amazing wedding views ever! After the ceremony and once family photos and photos of the couple wrapped up (wait until you see the photos on the beach!), it was time to make our way to the reception at the resort’s Seamist Bluff overlooking the ocean. We loved seeing all the details come together for their reception from the boho vibes, greenery, and mauve and nude touches. The resort staff was outstanding in making their wedding dreams come to life!
Then, it was time to party! We loved documenting everyone as they let loose and celebrated the newlyweds! Throughout getting ready, the ceremony, reception, and beyond – Kenzie and Ross were so easy going and you could tell that a destination wedding on the beach with their closest loved ones was a perfect fit. So many moving parts went into making this day happen – from planning wedding details, travel documents, COVID tests, oh, and leaving Chicagoland in a huge winter snowstorm… I’d say everything fell into place for a beautiful reason – Kenzie and Ross finally becoming husband and wife!
At the end of the day, I’m so glad Kenzie and Ross chose a destination wedding day that felt most like them. They told me that it was so fun to plan from afar and getting to show up and see everything come together! From our perspective, everything worked out perfectly and was so worth it to get to this day!
