At the end of December, I loved meeting up with Courtney and Todd for their engagement session… On an absolutely beautiful winter day!
Courtney and Todd’s story goes back over four years ago when they were both home over summer break from college. These two connected while listening to Courtney’s brother’s band play, and for the first time since going to high school together, they were both single. The timing was right when God brought these to together that summer night!
Over the past four years, Courtney and Todd have encouraged each other through schooling, a move to Atlanta, and new jobs. Earlier this year, Todd surprised Courtney with a proposal while they were visiting home. While Courtney thought they were going to be celebrating her nephew’s birthday a little early, the surprise was on her after Todd proposed and all their loved ones were actually gathered for their engagement party! And best yet? The diamond in Courtney’s engagement ring is one of her late grandmother’s diamonds… Oh my heart!
The week following their engagement, I LOVED hearing from a super excited Courtney, eager to plan their wedding day! I’ve known Courtney through my cousins throughout high school and beyond, and I loved working with her at Erin and Drew’s wedding day at the start of 2018. How sweet is that! It is an honor to be their wedding photographer throughout this exciting time in their life together.
When it came time for their engagement session over their Christmas break visit home, we made a quick decision to move their session up a day based on the looks of a very rainy forecast on the original date of their session… And I am SO thankful we did! We were blessed with a lovely winter day, sunlight, and nearly 50 degree temperatures in rural Kankakee County. It was perfect for these two!
Courtney and Todd – I loved your engagement session, and I am just so excited for your wedding day later THIS YEAR!
