It’s here, it’s here – Katelynn and Jamey’s wedding celebration at Hudson Farm!
In December 2020, we were honored to photograph & video Katelynn and Jamey’s intimate wedding day surrounded by their closest family and friends. Then in December 2021, we got to do it all again, but this time at Hudson Farm with a larger group of their family and friend support system! We love this couple!
From the Couple
Jamey and Katelynn met in high school in 2010. Katelynn was a freshman, Jamey was a sophomore. They met through a mutual friend and had study hall together the first semester. The two used to hang out at football games in the fall. Eventually Katelynn gained the confidence to tell Jamey she liked him and the feeling was mutual. They started dating on December 9, 2010 and will be celebrating 10 years of being together just a few days after the wedding.
Jamey proposed to Katelynn on November 2, 2019, while taking family photos. As Katelynn was looking back at photos on the camera, she came across a picture with two pumpkins, one saying “Marry Me?” and the other with a ring painted on it, and in the middle of the two was the engagement ring. When Katelynn turned around, Jamey was down on one knee and asked her to marry him and she said “Heck yes!”.
Jamey is a fourth-generation farmer and Katelynn cannot wait to be a farmer’s wife. Riding in the tractor or combine is a favorite fall activity that Katelynn and Jamey love to do together. The two enjoy traveling to the city and spending weekends away together, especially when it involves a Chicago Cubs game. Katelynn is currently in school working to get her teaching license to teach special education. Jamey is a pre-commercial corn researcher. Jamey and Katelynn enjoy spending time with each other’s families, especially their 11 nieces and nephews! Jamey and Katelynn cannot wait to be parents one day and hope to add more little ones to their families soon!
The Wedding Day
Katelynn and Jamey’s wedding celebration started at the same church as last year – Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, Illinois. As soon as Kyle and I arrived, we both said it felt like a moment of déjà vu… In the best way possible! We loved ending our 2020 wedding season with Katelynn and Jamey and knew that ending our 2021 wedding season with them would not disappoint!
After completing the finishing touches to get ready for the day and a few photos at the church, it was ceremony time! Since Katelynn and Jamey got married in 2020, their ceremony in 2021 was a reflection of their first year of marriage and a recommitment of their intentions in marriage together. It was so well done and beautiful!
Once the ceremony wrapped up, we took all the family photos with Katelynn and Jamey’s wonderful families. The family has even grown with more nieces & nephews since last year’s wedding, too!
Then, it was time to travel to Hudson Farm for wedding party photos before celebrating the night away! It was a super chilly December day, but Katelynn, Jamey, and their wedding party braved the cold for amazing photos. We joked that Katelynn and Jamey’s next photos should be in warm weather because their engagement photos and both wedding days have been cold. I’m all for photographing warm weather photos with this couple in their next chapters of life!
We loved being back at Hudson Farm, one of our favorite venues. The space is gorgeous and the family truly treats every couple and their vendors with so much love and kindness. Katelynn and Jamey were so well taken care of and thankful to finally have their wedding celebration at Hudson Farm!
It was a joy to photograph Katelynn and Jamey’s wedding celebration this year to celebrate one year of marriage. I loved the wedding planning advice Katelynn shared with me… Don’t fret the small things! In the end, the day will be perfect and you will be married to your best friend!
Katelynn & Jamey – Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing both of your wedding days with us! We adore you both and are excited to see what beautiful things happen in your next chapters of marriage and life together!
