In 2019, Kyle and I shared our seventh year of photographing weddings with twenty-six wonderful couples! And when I say that it’s been an honor to spend these wedding days with each and every one of those twenty-six couples, it’s the honest truth. We don’t take this job lightly and are forever thankful for these people.

Throughout the 2019 wedding season, we saw some of the trends and traditions from the previous wedding season sprinkle in, but once again, the wedding days brought the details and big bouquets… My favorite! As more time goes by, I’m finding that I’m a lover of details, big bouquets, and dogs at wedding days. They’re just the best! And I know that I also said I was blown away by the florals after our 2018 weddings, but the same is true after our 2019 season. The florals just keep getting better and better, and I LOVE photographing them!

This wedding season brought the 2019 Pantone color of the year  – living coral – to life with a handful of my couples. And of course, we saw oodles greenery and TONS of navy blue menswear this past year. It’s like my couples were ahead of the trend. As if they already knew what the 2020 Pantone color of the year would be!

In other areas of wedding style, we saw lots of strapless dresses, lace + beading, and fitted gowns. Long bridesmaids dresses were an overall majority with our couples. We also saw a lot of mismatched bridesmaid dress styles AND colors. I love that!

Many of our brides wore veils (a good handful were cathedral – heart eyes!) and some simply worse hairpieces or floral accents in their hair. On the groom side of things, we saw mostly long ties and only a handful of bow ties. Sad face for Kyle because bow ties are his very favorite!

Some moments that make me smile when I look back on this wedding season are… Seeing past couples at this year’s weddings, city wedding days, dessert tables and yummy cake, crying happy tears behind my camera during the daddy-daughter dance, meeting new vendor friends, and hugging my brides dearly on their wedding days. We were overjoyed to photograph weddings from lakeside venues to barns to ballrooms to museums to lofts to country clubs to mansions and more throughout this last wedding season. Maybe I should write a book with our favorite wedding moments and experiences!

There aren’t enough words to do our 2019 wedding season justice in just one blog post… Good thing I blogged each and every wedding day – wink, wink! Every single one of our couples is near and dear to my heart. I love them oh so much!
