Happy new year! It’s time for my last (but not least) monthly recap from the past year… The month of December was good to us!
Our month started with a Thanksgiving gathering – it’s so odd to me that the Thanksgiving holiday was so late this year. Then we were rolling into the new month! The first week of December brought a chilly session with one of my past brides and meeting two new brides. Then the weekend brought a lunch date with one of our 2018 couples – love it!
The second week of the month brought a day trip to Chicago with my mom, aunt, and cousin and then our first dinner at The Melting Pot with friends. And between consults with new brides + planning details with our December brides that week, I squeezed in a fun day! I loved taking a day to sew with my grandma. She taught me how to sew, so we were able to work on some Christmas projects together this season. Finally, the end of the week brought a day trip to New Glarus, WI to the brewery. Kyle and I are big fans of the brewery. We brought my dad along and loved spending the December day on a really awesome brewery tour experience!
Our second full weekend of December brought an engagement session and time spent with family and our small group from church. Then there was SNOW! And lots of it on the ground… Lucky enough, I had FOUR sessions that week and every one of them had snow on the ground! I couldn’t have planned that better.
The weekend before Christmas is always a fun one – family baking day, finishing shopping, and getting in the holiday spirit. And before we knew it, we were spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with family. It was a good holiday!
After Christmas, we were back to work and in the swing of things before a double wedding weekend. These were our last two weddings of 2019, and they were good to us! We were anticipating freezing cold weddings as we looked ahead on our calendar… But much to our surprise – both weddings were 60 degree days! In December. What?! Even though the weather was a little wet, foggy, and warm that weekend – the weddings were amazing!
The end of the month brought a visit from my college roommate and a New Years Celebration together. All in all, the month of December FLEW by, and we loved having oo much time with those we love!
Cheers to 2020 and more monthly recaps here on the blog!
