The year of 2019 was full of engagement sessions! Twenty-two to be exact ?

Season after season and year after year, it’s a joy to photograph many engagement sessions. These sessions often mark the first time couples have been professionally photographed together. They’re my favorite! And from city views to riverwalks to forest preserves to grassy fields to cornfields to beaches to family property to snowy scenes… This year of engagement sessions had me loving every minute of it all!

This time with my couples is amazing because I get to photograph them, but more importantly, I get to know them better and spend more time with them before their wedding days. Engagement sessions are a really sweet spot where I carve out time to really spend one-on-one time with my couples outside of the booking process, consults, FaceTime dates, and photography coffee dates. Don’t get me wrong, I do and always will love all of that, but there is something special about spending time together in person and getting to know each other more intentionally in a fun environment. And there’s nothing like getting to document couples interacting and loving on each other, too! Oh, and I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I would be lying if I said I didn’t love meeting my couples’ puppies at these sessions. I mean, this is my JOB!
