Still gushing over this summer sunflower engagement session with Daniela and Andrew!

Meet Daniela and Andrew! I had the honor of working with Andrew as a wedding party member at Kristin and David’s wedding back in 2017, so when Daniela and Andrew got engaged and reached out to me, I was thrilled!

So how did it all start?! On Bumble! Within the last couple of years, Daniela and Andrew met on the dating app. But what’s fun is that they also had the help of Daniela’s best friend because as it turns out, she knew Andrew, too! These two started out 2020 on an exciting note after Andrew proposed back in Janaury. Daniela told me that the proposal was very intimate and romantic… She walked up to his house and there were notes (on Rae Dunn font which is her favorite!) and rose petals leading her to where she found him on one knee. Heart eyes!

Over the past few months, we’ve been planning their summer engagement session around one request… Sunset SUNFLOWER engagement photos! If you know me, you know I was all in for this idea from the start. And by gosh, it was my mission to bring this session to life!

So, after a rained out original session date in late July, we were thankful for a gorgeous August evening for their session. Even after a crazy pop-up afternoon rainstorm might I add! I loved meeting up with these two, their moms, and their dogs for photos at the Kankakee River State Park before we traveled up the road to Proclamation Flowers for photos throughout the flower field. You guys, these locations – and old favorite state park AND a new favorite flower field – and this adorable couple did not disappoint. I loved my time spent with these two between chasing their pups for photos and frolicking through the fresh flower field… It doesn’t get much better than that!
