This summer Kankakee County engagement session with Samantha and Mitchell was one for the books!
I connected with this couple this spring as they started planning their August 2021 wedding all thanks to a Google search. I LOVE IT! Over the last few months, we’ve been eagerly awaiting their August engagement session. And I absolutely loved that Samantha wanted August engagement photos and wedding photos because loves summer and that the seasons would match in her photos. This is a girl after my heart!
Samantha and Mitchell two started dating years ago after a high school friend of Samantha’s invited her on a double date with her boyfriend’s brother. And that’s where it all started! Then on a family vacation earlier this year, Samantha and Mitchell booked a snorkeling and beach adventure – just the two of them. After snorkeling with sea turtles and on the coral reef, they stopped at Honeymoon Beach in St. Thomas, and Mitchell completely surprised Samantha with a proposal!
On the evening of their engagement photos, we were blessed with the most beautiful summer weather. We met at the Kankakee River State Park to start their session. And you guys, like always, the Kankakee River did not disappoint for these photos. I remember taking just a few photos at the start of their session and telling Samantha and Mitchell that they were naturals in front of the camera. They made my job easy as pie!
After wrapping up photos at the river, we drove over to Perry Farm for sunset photos. This spot is probably one of my very favorite sunset spots in Kankakee County! I don’t think I’ll ever grow tired of photographing couples in love at this gorgeous place.
