It’s an honor to share this romantic spring wedding day at The Chateu Bu-Sche in Alsip today!
I loved photographing Brittany and Braden for the first and second time (you’ll have to read the blog post to find out why!) last summer for their engagement session. These two radiate kindness and joy in their relationship with each other and those around them.
Braden and I met back in 2000 when we were on the same County West soccer team at ages 5 & 7 (although we didn’t know it at the time)! Fast forward 10 years, and we attended Herscher High School together. Braden started talking to me at the end of my junior year when he was a freshman. It took his persistence until I finally said hey maybe I should talk to this guy. The summer before my senior year of high school, we started spending time together and the rest is history. Braden proposed during my first year of veterinary school at the St. Louis Garden Glow Festival during Christmas. It was so pretty!
These two enjoy cooking new meals together, visiting local coffee shops, crafting, and spending quality time with their sweet pup, Wrigley! They adopted this rescue pup (my heart!) two years ago, and he fits perfectly into their little family. Like I mentioned, Brittany and Braden are the kindest of souls and truly value the importance of family and community. They’re passionate about making a difference in people’s lives – not only in their careers as a veterinarian and a paramedic but also in their everyday lives, too. Aren’t they the sweetest couple?!
Over the past year and a half, I have loved getting to know Brittany and Braden! And goodness, their wedding vision has had me smitten from the start. They selected The Chateau Bu-Sche in Alsip for their wedding festivities because of it’s overall storybook feel – YES! Between the 25 acres of land, gold + white color scheme, and the beautiful light, the natural beauty of the venue was the perfect fit for these two. And I’m so thankful they chose to share it with me!
On the morning of their wedding day, Kyle and I arrived to the hotel where the bridesmaids and groomsmen were preparing for the day. Everyone was eager for the rest of the day to get rolling! We loved taking a few moments to document the special details of this wedding day before traveling to the venue. These two opted for a traditional reveal down the aisle, so before the ceremony we kept bride and groom separate for a few photos throughout the beautiful grounds at The Chateau Bu-Sche. We were so, so thankful that the rain kept holding off for us throughout the afternoon, and surprisingly, into the evening, too!
Before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony where Brittany and Braden shared handwritten vows with one another. Time and time again, handwritten vows are one of my favorite parts of wedding days. Then they were MARRIED! After the ceremony, we loved spending time with the bridal party for a few more photos before everyone was whisked away to the reception. Goodness, this day was gorgeous!
I loved how Brittany’s vision for gold, rose gold, and blush were woven into many aspects of the day… From the bridesmaids dresses to the decor to the flowers to everything in between. It all came together perfectly! And my other favorite details of this wedding were Brittany’s late Aunt Denise’s favorite necklace adorned to her bouquet and her late grandpa’s blue handkerchief sewn into the bottom of her dress.
Like I shared above, the rain held off… ALL DAY! We were so very thankful that the weather cleared. Plus we loved grabbing a few sunset photos before these two celebrated the night away! From a conga line to the polka – their celebration was full of fun!
Brittany & Braden – Thank you for sharing your most precious wedding day with us! We loved photographing the day you two became husband and wife. Hugs!!
