Happy October – let’s take a quick look back some highlights from our month of September in our neck of the woods!
We started the month off with Kyle’s birthday and photographing a Kankakee County wedding day! Then, we celebrated birthday weekend with his twin brother, Kristopher, and his girlfriend, Marisa, and our niece Sofia treated everyone to a very special birthday cake, too!
After celebrating Kyle’s birthday for a few days – hey, he truly deserves that and soooo much MORE! – we got back into the swing of things for a busy September and fall ahead of us. We photographed a rainy but beautiful wedding day in Champaign and had our first day of fall fun at Benoit Greenhouses. I have to admit… This fall, I broke my own rules! I am normally a girl that doesn’t decorate for fall until the first official day of fall, but that trip to the greenhouse changed my heart! After that day, I was in full-on FALL MODE and decked our house out in pumpkin accents and started burning fall candles. Not one regret over here!
Then we geared up for another full week of sessions and Kyle’s work at the brewery before making a quick trip to Springfield for a wedding day. Mid-September, our small group from church started gathering again at our home on Sundays, and it’s so good to be back, too.
As we moved into the last week or two of the month, we sold all my office furniture (stay tuned for my office redo!), canned more homemade garden salsa, harvested the biggest watermelon ever from our garden (seriously this thing was close to 30 pounds!), enjoyed tacos on the Kankakee River with friends, stopped by the back patio at Grapes & Hops for a glass of wine with my sister, traveled to Springfield for a photo/video wedding day, AND rounded out the month with a couple more sessions and lots of busy days at the brewery for Kyle.
September really flew by! Cheers to October and my birthday month – let’s hope there is lots of CAKE!
