Eeeek – I am beyond honored to share Nadia and Brendan’s romantic blush and gold wedding day at Room 1520 in Chicago on the blog today! These two and this day were perfect.
You might remember these two from earlier this year when we met for their late winter/early spring engagement session… And even though the three of us froze on that March day in Chicago, their Riverwalk engagement photos were worth it!
Nadia and Brendan’s story goes way back – back to when Nadia was 3 and Brendan was 5! These two grew up in Georgia. Though it wasn’t until a trivia night on a Tuesday in Chicago that they reconnected and started to fall in love with each other. I love these two and the start to their story together!
From the bride on the proposal…
Brendan surprised me in Mexico! We went back to the resort that we went to on our first “big trip” together, and he asked me to marry him on the first night we were there. It was hilarious because I convinced myself that he wasn’t going to propose. Everyone we encountered when we got off the plane kept asking us what we were celebrating but didn’t want to get my hopes up. So you can imagine my total surprise and excitement when we opened a bottle of champagne… And then Brendan took me out on the balcony and got down on one knee. We spent the whole week in total bliss and excitement!
Now Nadia and Brendan love to travel and dine together in their free time away from wedding planning. ?These two are active and enjoy all of the outdoor activities that Chicago has to offer them. Friends, I cannot tell you enough of how kind and fun-loving these two are… Their personalities perfectly compliment one another, and I am so thankful a Google search brought them into my life!
The Wedding Day
Over the past months, I’ve been working alongside Nadia, Brendan, and their DREAM TEAM (see below ⬇️) of wedding vendors as we planned for their wedding day. Of course with no shortage of excitement and eager anticipation! The day started at the Sheraton Grand downtown. I loved arriving at the bridal suite where the ladies were getting ready. The space was filled with excitement and eager anticipation for the day ahead! And of course, the guys spent the morning relaxing and playing Nintendo in their suite. I love wedding day mornings!
As everyone finished preparations for the day, we set aside a few moments for Nadia to share with her mom and sister. Then, Nadia shared an emotional reveal with her dad. These moments brought tears to my eyes – this is why I do what I do! Then, it was time to walk to the Wrigley Building for some pre-ceremony photos. What you might not know is that this early May wedding day was a bit chilly around 55 degrees AND windy. Despite the weather, Nadia, Brendan, and their most favorite people were amazing through it all! So thankful for their crew and their welcoming arms to these photogs!
The Ceremony + Reception
Soon it was time for Nadia and Brendan to share a romantic wedding ceremony at Room 1520 surrounded by their closest family and friends. Their dear friend Doug performed the ceremony, and it was one of my favorite ceremonies throughout seven years of weddings. Heartfelt, fun, and so true to Nadia and Brendan!
And I cannot forget to share that we loved being back at Room 1520 for both their ceremony and reception. The space looked incredible from top to bottom with the blush pink, navy, gold, greenery, and romantic decor. We had the honor to photograph a wedding at this venue for the first time last wedding season, and we’ve really been in love ever since! From the location to the loft style space to the rooftop skyline views… ?
As the evening rolled on after the ceremony, we loved documenting these two sharing unforgettable moments through an awesome choreographed first dance, speeches, family dances, and then dancing the night away with their family and friends. Best end to the night? A dance party on the roof! All in all, this romantic blush and gold wedding day at Room 1520 in Chicago was one for the books! Nadia and Brendan’s wedding was romantic, intimate, and fun – just like these two! Nadia and Brendan share a caring, fun, and lighthearted love. I truly think anyone that knows them would agree that they are the perfect match!
Nadia + Brendan – Thank you for welcoming us in on your most perfect wedding day! We are thankful for you two and your loved ones. It was an honor to photograph your wedding day! Enjoy your honeymoon in Africa!!
