OMG… I am sooooo over the moon excited to share my PINK office makeover with you today! This blog post is so very fun!
In July, Kyle and I moved from an apartment into a house which we LOVE, and I was so excited to customize my new office space! If you know me at all, you know that I love home decor, shopping, and DIY projects, so this “little” project (Kyle would LOL at that term – ha!) was right up my alley! I’m a firm believer in your office space/workspace/creative space being a space that is encouraging, inviting, and the place where you knock out your best work. So I decided to dive right in by ordering office shelving and buying paint!
As soon as we knew we were moving, I mentioned the idea of pink office walls to Kyle. At first, my hubby was not a fan, but I kept trying to convince him and just kept talking about it so much that I think he finally gave in and figured that if it was “too pink” we could always paint again later. I just kept reminding him that my office oasis had to be the perfect mix of me, my brand, girly things, AND my “rustic retro” style. Good thing he hopped on board!
You guys, the paint color process was so tough. While I’m a girl that often knows what she wants, I can also be incredibly indecisive when it comes to certain things… Enter the paint color decision! After like FOUR trips to our local Sherwin-Williams store and what seemed like taping a hundred different paint swatches to the wall, we settled on the color Intimate White – SW 6322 – and while Kyle wasn’t sure at this point that the color would be pink enough (I LOVE my hubby for going all in with me at this point!), I had a feeling it would be just right. I was envisioning a blush pink wall color, and yes, it turned out to be JUST that!
As a #ladyboss, I felt very accomplished after I finished painting the entire office by myself (plus a little help from my office manager AKA Georgie girl) while Kyle was at work. Talk about being proud of your own masterpiece! And I couldn’t wait to start decorating! I loved taking the time to style my functional yet decorative office shelving units that Kyle put together along with picking out little decorative trinkets, ordering prints of some of our favorite photos, and choosing where we should hang wall decor. Oh, and Kyle even refinished my filing cabinet to a lovely off-white color with gold hardware – IN LOVE!
To say that I am proud of my new creative office space and the entire makeover is an understatement. Working from home can be challenging at times but having a space that is 100% dedicated to my work and my business and my brand makes my job that much more fun. Every morning I am so excited to step into my funky rustic retro office oasis and get work done!
What do you think of my new office space, friends?
