Happy Friday! Today, I am super excited to share Molly and Zach’s engagement session – it was amazing!
Last January, I participated in the Elegant Bridal Expo at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign, IL. While meeting couples and talking with brides and grooms, I was honored to meet Molly and Zach. Molly was visiting her fiancé for the weekend in Champaign, and they decided the expo would be a perfect weekend + wedding planning activity to do together! And I am so glad that they decided to stop! We talked about their love story and their wedding day (which is taking place at a beautiful winery), and they were off to explore the other vendor booths at the expo. To my surprise and happiness, they stopped back by my booth and said that they couldn’t leave the expo without booking engagement and wedding photography By Kara! How sweet and what a great honor!
Minutes after meeting these two (with my husband Kyle by my side at my booth), I knew they were the type of couple I wanted to work with and love working with for engagement and wedding photography. There is something so refreshing and fulfilling about meeting people and feeling the urge to talk more, get to know them, and build a relationship. These are the people that enrich my job and my joy!
And soon enough, we were planning their Chicago, Illinois engagement session to take place in August! These two are huge Chicago Cubs fans (yay!), so it was perfectly fitting for their session to start in Wrigleyville. I loved squeezing them with hugs at the start of their session and exploring the area with them… It was a whole new perspective, to me, on Wrigleyville!
From the start of their session, I was in awe with their chemistry and charismatic interactions. They were so comfortable with one another – laughing, talking, and not worrying about a camera documenting them. I LOVED it! I could not help but think about how it is so fulfilling to see a couple so in love. These two love passionately and deeply while still having fun and being lighthearted.
And guess what! These two even scored free “Mrs.” and “Mr.” cups of coffee for a spontaneous coffeeshop addition to their session. I am so thankful that they were up for my spur of the moment idea for hot coffee on a hot day… I may be a bit crazy, but it’s ok – they accept me! 😉
Next, the session moved to the Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk in Chicago, and my oh my, was it a stunning location. I cannot wait to go back to explore and photograph more sessions there! The flowers, greenery, and Chicago views were overwhelmingly beautiful. Once again, these two were as cute as can be and so interactive for their photos. It took barely anything for Zach to get Molly to break out in a huge grin or laugh – so incredibly sweet!
Molly and Zach – I had such a fun time with you both! It truly makes me appreciate our meeting at the expo, and my excitement for your wedding day continues to grow as I look back on your engagement session!
