Another Wedding Wednesday is here! This week, the blog series continues, and it’s time to talk about choosing your wedding day vendors… Yay!
First off, choosing your wedding vendors should be a fun, relational process, so always keep that in the forefront of your mind! Here’s a quick list of types of vendors you should start to reach out to…
- Florist
- DJ or Band
- Wedding Planner
- Paper Goods
- Caterer
- Handcrafted Signs
- Cake Designer
- Officiant
- Videographer
- Party Rentals + Linens
When reaching out to these vendors and starting your search, I have two valuable pieces of advice for this part of the planning process…
1) Ask your friends and family who have recently gotten married about their wedding vendors. Your friends and family will be honest with you, and I think word of mouth is so powerful. I love finding new clients through past clients – so refreshing and fulfilling! Ask them things like… Did you have a good experience with your DJ? Would you change anything about your paper goods? Did your florist work well with other vendors?
2) Look for vendors that area like-minded to you and your fiancé. Yes, your wedding day is ONE day of your life, but the planning process occupies all of the days leading up to your wedding day. You will be working with your wedding vendors throughout the days, weeks, and months leading up to your wedding day, so finding vendors that you have a strong relationship with and almost feel like old friends, is a wonderful approach in my book!
I truly wish you the best of luck with your wedding vendor search – just remember to relax and have fun! And guess what we’re talking about next week… Wedding dress shopping!
