Some traditions are just too special not to continue, and photographing Elise each summer has become one of my favorites. This sweet girl recently turned three, which meant it was time for another milestone session at the studio! It’s hard to believe how quickly the years have gone by because I can still picture the day I photographed her newborn session. Watching little ones grow from behind my camera is one of the greatest joys of this job… And being invited back year after year is something I’ll never take for granted!

Elise was such a sweetheart during her three-year milestone session. She has the sweetest personality and is growing into such a fun, bubbly little girl. From the moment she walked into the studio, she was full of smiles, curiosity, and playful energy. She took direction so well while still bringing so much of her own personality to each photo, which made this session feel fun and so Elise.

One of the reasons I love photographing milestone sessions beyond a baby’s first year is because every age brings something new to celebrate. At three years old, kiddos are full of imagination, confidence, and expressions that make this stage so much fun to document. These sessions don’t have to be elaborate to preserve this season of life. Sometimes all it takes is beautiful light, a simple backdrop, and plenty of room for your child’s personality to shine.

As I looked through Elise’s gallery, I couldn’t help but think about how much has changed since her newborn session. I’m beyond grateful to have documented each chapter along the way. These photographs become such a beautiful reminder of just how quickly childhood passes. I’m feeling thankful that the Ruebhausen family has trusted me to preserve these memories year after year.
