Kankakee River State Park Family Photos | The Mellone Family

It’s always such a joy when clients turn into friends, and the Mellone family is the perfect example of that!

I’ll forever be grateful that their Chicagoland wedding day (turned Grand Canyon elopement!) brought them into my life back in 2018. It’s been two years since I’ve seen and photographed this family. Fast forward to this fall, and it was such a treat to see how much their beautiful family has grown!

Their kiddos are kind, sweet, and a little silly, and I loved capturing all of their personalities during this session. The Mellone family is truly the real deal, and I just adore them!

For this session, we headed to one of my favorite spots at Kankakee River State Park. With their love of outdoorsy, grassy, woodsy vibes, this location was the perfect backdrop to showcase early fall colors. Between the golden leaves and soft light filtering through the trees, we got beautiful, timeless photos that reflect exactly who they are as a family.

Spending time with the Mellones was such a highlight, and these images are a reminder of how quickly the seasons (and kids!) change. I feel so lucky to walk alongside families like theirs in capturing these special moments!
