This family has my heart! Macklin just turned ONE, and his big brother Maverick will be turning four in just a few weeks — and I still can’t believe how quickly time flies. Watching these boys grow and being their Aunt Kara is one of the greatest joys of my life. This session at their home in Iroquois County was full of fun, chaos, and the best kind of moments!

Milestone sessions like this one feel extra special. I’ve been a photographer since 2010, and after 15 years of photographing families, babies, and all the in-between moments, I can honestly say these sessions never get old. In fact, I’ve fallen even more in love with milestone sessions over the years.

While the first year is full of big moments and quick changes (and yes, I absolutely love newborn, 6-month, and 12-month sessions!)… There’s something so special about continuing to document your family after that first year. Once your kiddos are past the 12- to 18-month stage, I always recommend a full session each year. It’s the perfect way to celebrate your family exactly as you are… In the middle of the chaos, the growth, the giggles, and the love.

These are the moments you’ll never want to forget — their expressions, their personalities, the way they look at you — and each photo tells a piece of your family’s story. These sessions go beyond the “milestones” and become memories you’ll treasure forever.
