October has been a fun month of sessions and weddings that are taking us to new places! A few weeks ago, I met up with one of our 2022 couples, Annie and Virgil, at the Goose Island Barrel House for their engagement photos.
If you’ve been around here long enough, then you that my husband is a production brewer at Brickstone Brewery during the week and a wedding photographer/videographer alongside me by the weekend. The brewery family is wonderful and connected us to Annie and Virgil – we’re forever thankful for that! Over the past few months, we’ve been planning details for their Goose Island engagement session and wedding in Louisville next year.
So without further ado, meet Annie and Virgil! Their story goes back a few years to when Annie moved home from NYC. While she was looking for apartments in Chicago, she stayed with her parents in Bourbonnais… Making for a beautiful love story, Virgil lives next door to Annie’s parents, and they hit it off pretty quickly. Last year, Virgil proposed to Annie at home on a quiet evening after a walk through the neighborhood together. Now they’re planning their wedding for next year!
For their engagement session, they chose the Goose Island Barrel House – a fun and unique location! I love how they channeled their love for bourbon and their upcoming Louisville wedding vibes right here in Chicago! It’s true, Goose Island fit perfectly to highlight the bourbon barrel vibes and brought a touch of Louisville to Chicago.
Annie and Virgil were trusting of me throughout the photo process and even had a few ideas themselves. They’ve never been professionally photographed together, but they got comfortable at the barrel house and had fun in front of the camera. This session was one for the books for our friends, Annie and Virgil!
Here are some of my favorite photos from their session!!
[…] also probably remember Annie and Virgil from their unique engagement session at the Goose Island Barrel House (so fun!) last fall. Those photos set the scene for their wedding […]
