Meet Cari and Nick!

This September, I traveled south to Beardstown, Illinois for their engagement session. These two were very welcoming of me to their neck of the woods, and we were thankful for a lovely fall-like evening (despite the 90+ degree temps and unexpected storm clouds that rolled in – eeek!).

Cari and Nick officially “met” when she was starting college, but both grew up in the small town of Beardstown where everyone knows everyone. Soon enough, these two hit it off, started dating, and the rest is history! Cari and Nick fit together perfectly and are planning their wedding after four years together.

These two are building a house together (I know right?!), and it’s almost done! This fall is going to mark their move into the new house, and next fall will bring their wedding day… So much excitement! Nick completely surprised Cari with the proposal when they went to the new house to check on things one Friday night. And before Cari knew it, Nick was down on one knee asking her to marry him. I love the sentiment of this part of their story and this place in their life together!

Since connecting with Cari back in May (my sweet favorite Tiffany connected us!), we have been looking forward to their engagement session! I loved meeting these two and exploring around the Beardstown countryside for their photos. Halfway through the session, storm clouds started rolling in… And as I was photographing these two in the country with the wind, clouds, and colors around us, I couldn’t help but see all things fall. These photos are the very first from this year that truly show the FALL season. I love them so!
