As a wedding photographer, you have the opportunity to relive wedding days in a very unique way. You’ve documented the entire day, and you are one of the first people that has a look at the day while editing. I sincerely love this aspect of my job!
While reliving and editing Tiffany and Steven’s wedding day, I remembered and felt all of the emotions of their day again. I had tears running down my face as I worked through their emotional and beautiful first look (at the place where they spent the first year of their relationship – Illinois College), I laughed looking back on Steven’s interactions with his groomsmen, and I felt sheer joy when remembering the kind, happy people that surrounded Tiffany and Steven on their wedding day.
You see, this “job” is so much more to me. It’s personal, it’s relational, and it’s important. I am trusted to help couples through the wedding planning process, and I am trusted to document their first day as one before many days and months and years together follow. As you can probably tell, looking back on Tiffany and Steven’s wedding day was something I thoroughly enjoyed. And even more? I loved sharing their wedding gallery with them last night and receiving a message from Tiffany saying that she was crying happy tears while experiencing her wedding day through photos. This is what I mean when I say that my “job” is so much more to me.
Now, let’s rewind a little… When I first met Tiffany and Steven last summer, I instantly knew that we were a wonderful fit. We were like-minded and could already easily talk like old friends. It’s amazing to connect with people so quickly! Soon after booking engagement and wedding photography, Tiffany and I continued to get to know one another via phone calls, texts, emails, and of course, Facebook. I cherish the time that I am able to get to know my couples better. Then, later in the fall, we set out for their engagement session, and they are still some of my most favorite fall e-session photos to date! These two were beautiful in front of the camera and their intense love and affection for one another was undeniable.
After their engagement session, Tiffany reached out to me for help with another part of the wedding process – paper goods and invitations! I loved working with Tiffany to make her vision come to life when designing her save the dates, bridal shower invitations, and wedding invitation suite. Love, love, LOVE!
Then, it was finally their long-awaited wedding day. And, it’s true, Tiffany and Steven’s wedding day was a fairytale! Every detail was meticulously planned and every part of the day fit together seamlessly. These two lovebirds were surrounded by so many wonderful family members and friends, and their joyous interactions brightened the day even more!
This wedding day took place in mid-July, so the weather was crazy hot… If I remember correctly, the heat index was close to feeling like 110 degrees outside! But you know what? The entire bridal party was amazing, relaxed, and up for anything I suggested even with the heat. That is my favorite and so awesome!
I am still in awe of the beauty Tiffany radiated throughout the day. In my mind, when you think of a blushing bride, I can absolutely picture Tiffany. Her gown was detailed with touches of blush pink throughout ivory with impeccable bead and lace details. And wow, Tiffany’s hair and makeup team truly know how to accentuate someone’s natural beauty. Goodness, wait until you see this bride!
One thing that stood out to me on this day was that all throughout the day, Tiffany and Steven were thankful. First and foremost, they were thankful for one another and starting their life as husband and wife. They were thankful to be surrounded by people that love and support them, and they were thankful to celebrate with them. And how might I know this? Even as it was Tiffany and Steven’s wedding day – a day focused on the two of them, they were focused on others. Tiffany and Steven serve others through their genuine souls and welcoming personalities, and I could not even count how many times I heard the two of them thanking others throughout their day whether it was a family member, friend, or wedding vendor. These two are truly as sweet as can be!
And at the end of it all, I know that everyone that shared a part in Tiffany and Steven’s wedding day will always remember it. Tiffany and Steven continually radiate happiness and are longing to share it with others, and I am so excited for them to experience marriage together. After all and absolutely no matter what’s happening in life, knowing you’re married to your best friend each and every day is the most incredible, fulfilling thing in the world!
Tiffany and Steven – I am so thankful to have you two in my life! You were an absolute joy to get to know and work with, and I believe these photos truly show your love for one another! XOX
