This wedding day was the perfect start to the 2019 wedding season!

Introducing the first newlyweds of this wedding season – Heather and Austin! You might remember these two from their fall engagement session (heart eyes!), and I’m sure you remember that these two are some of the sweetest souls.

Heather and Austin met on a blind date. After falling head over heels for each other from the start, these two moved in together and grew close to each other’s’ families. Last year, Heather and Austin moved from Champaign to Paxton, Illinois, and Austin proposed to Heather on closing day for their new home! It was simple and perfect for these two… I love it!

Over the past couple years of their relationship, Heather and Austin have grown to love spending time at home together and hosting game nights with their family and friends. They love spending time as a little family of three whether it’s nightly bike rides during the warmer months, enjoying dinner on the porch, making updates to their new home, or just spending time inside or out with the light of their life, Annaliese. And this little family of three is soon to be a family of four later this year, too! 

Their wedding day started on a rainy note, but don’t they say that rain is good luck on your wedding day? I loved arriving to Town & Country Events at the start of this wedding day and being greeted by the ladies and guys as they gathered and spent time getting ready for the day.

As the girls wrapped up hair and makeup, Heather and Austin shared an intimate first look at the venue while the rain slowed outside. We were thankful to have a venue with natural light and beautiful textures for their photos. And as the rain slowed, we spent a few minutes outside with these two for bride and groom portraits prior to the ceremony. After those photos wrapped up, we linked back up with the bridal party for a few more photos before tucking everyone away for a few relaxing moments until the ceremony began. As the ceremony carried on, I loved hearing Heather and Austin’s vows to one another where they not only vowed to love and honor one another forever, but they vowed to love and honor Annaliese and their baby on the way as a family of four. And after the ceremony came to an end, these two celebrated the night away in the best way they could have imagined… With cake, singing happy birthday, Monical’s Pizza, a gender reveal, and lots of dancing!

I loved Heather and Austin’s simple style for their wedding day! The venue, Town & County Events, is beautiful and speaks for itself, and the details and decor that these two chose complemented the space perfectly. The colors of black, old gold, ivory paired with tons of greenery was so timeless! And goodness, have you seen a more beautiful bride? Heather’s bridal look was to die for… 😍

Some of my favorite details throughout this day – beyond the color palette, greenery, and wedding style – were all about the people. I loved seeing one of their dear parents officiate their marriage ceremony. I loved that Austin’s ring is a family heirloom and that his grandparents were the last couple dancing for the anniversary dance. I loved seeing Heather and Austin’s family and friends come together to celebrate these two on such a special day… Their wedding day AND Austin’s birthday. And I loved being the “best photographer duo” (insert happy crying face!) with my hubby Kyle by my side on this wedding day for these two and their favorite people in the world.

Heather and Austin – thank you for trusting us to document your wedding day. I have to say that it is a true joy that you two have come into our life, and I wouldn’t have imagined that I could adore you two any more than when I first met you… But I do! Cheers to many happy married years!
