Summer is truly in full swing with no signs of slowing down for a few more weeks! Just about the time that kiddos start going back to school is when my life as a photographer slows just a bit, but I’ll still be in the thick of wedding season – so much love!
Two weeks ago, I had the honor to meet and photograph the McTaggart extended family. Kay contacted me in early June about scheduling a session, and I was thrilled to hear from her! Soon enough, we were planning a session with her and her husband, her five children + spouses, and their fifteen grandchildren!
As a photographer, the weather can be a crazy thing, and sessions can luckily be rescheduled if the weather is less than desirable. But, when you have 27 people to photograph, even the thought of rescheduling and coordinating another date becomes a daunting task! So, of course, for this large extended family session there were crazy storms occurring with no signs of stopping. Luckily, Kay and her husband have a beautiful home in the country with a covered front porch – it was absolutely perfect for the circumstances. I apologized numerous times for looking like a rainy disaster as I stood off of the porch shooting in the rain, but these photos were so incredibly worth it!
The entire family was wonderful to work with and extremely flexible even with the rain on their session date. No, the rain wasn’t ideal, but it was so meaningful to me that the family chose to keep plans to capture everyone in one place at one time, together…. Rain or shine!
