During the week of Christmas, I traveled to Penfield, Illinois, back to Sonrise Farms, for a family photo session of the Hesterberg family. It was a chilly 40 degree day, but we all agreed that were lucky for a “warmer” day in December before winter weather really started!

Last summer, two of the Hesterberg boys, Luke and Josiah, proposed to their girlfriends on the same evening in the tool shed at Sonrise Farms. Soon after, I was hired as the engagement and wedding photographer for both weddings! Both couples, along with the Hesterberg family, have welcomed me with open arms over the last few months. I am so excited to photograph both weddings this year!

The family session, though, was a gift from the kids to their parents, and I think that it is a terrific gift! I would love to gift my parents a photo session (shhhh don’t tell!). It was wonderful to schedule this over Christmastime, as well, because one of the boys lives in California. I truly enjoyed photographing all of these sweet people during their time to be reunited with the entire family!
