Hello on this beautiful day!

Over the past several weeks, my blog has had a lot of focus on weddings, but rest assured, I am still photographing families (and engagements and weddings) and I still LOVE to!

Next to photographing engagements and weddings, families are some of my favorite sessions! Before these sessions, I always try to get to know the family better, understand their vision, and make the session the best fit for them…. Then, on location, I love getting to know individual members of the family and the family as a whole throughout the session.

On Good Friday, I traveled to the Clemmons family home outside of Sheldon, Illinois. Last year, Ashley, Wade, and Viola moved to the country and I love shooting their family sessions on their property in the country! This session doubled as a family and eighteen month session focusing on Viola Joyce. I have photographed this little lady since she was born, and it is amazing to look back on my work and to see how much she is growing and changing!

She is sassy, spunky, and full of personality! Viola Joyce fills her family (and anyone she’s “talking” to) with joy!
