Studio Family Photographer in Kankakee | The Johnson Family

So much love for this adorable family! For their first professional photos as a family of three, we went with a simple and sweet vibe at the studio. I have to say, I’m absolutely in love with how these studio family photos turned out. There’s just something about a clean, natural setting paired with those first-time-parent smiles and baby snuggles. It’s timeless, honest, and full of love.

If these faces look familiar, it’s because I had the honor of photographing Amie and Ben’s stunning destination wedding in Tulum and their maternity photos last summer, just weeks before they welcomed their baby boy Shep. Getting to continue documenting their story and this new chapter of parenthood they’re embracing is such a gift.

While photographing this session, I found myself reflecting on something close to my heart – my studio. Years ago, I dreamed of having a natural light space where I could welcome families like the Johnsons and create images that feel as special and peaceful as the moments we’re capturing. Now, four years into calling this space “ours,” I still get that same grateful feeling every time I step inside. It’s become a home away from home, and there’s nothing better than watching new families grow in this space.
