Meet Tina and Greg. These two found my work last year after an internet search for a Kankakee County wedding photographer, and I’m so glad they did! Keep reading to see more of their Kankakee County Fairgrounds wedding day.

That’s right, September weddings are in full swing, and today I’m happy to share our first of three September weddings this year!

The Love Story

Tina and Greg met several years ago while Greg was a customer at a retail store where Tina did bookkeeping. They knew each other for three years and had a customer-employee connection, nothing more. Then something happened, and they started talking more and more. Their first date happened a few months later, and they’ve been in love for the last five years and counting.

On Christmas Day last year, Greg proposed to Tina in front of her family. She opened gifts to spell out “will you marry me?” She was completely surprised when she found an engagement ring wrapped up in the Christmas tree! I love that the proposal was a true surprise. And wedding planning began 😍

When it comes to their relationship, Tina shared this with me… “I could go on and on, it is so weird how God works. He put us together when neither of us were looking. We had both had our own different hardships, and God stepped in and said that’s enough and put us together. The love and happiness we have now, neither of us had ever experienced. It is almost unbelievable.”

Now, this couple loves to travel together and spend time working in their steel fabrication business. They both share a love for history, Westerns, and museums. These two are a perfect match!

The Wedding Day

Tina and Greg’s wedding day brought the most beautiful September weather. We were incredibly thankful for perfect temps and sunshine. The day started at Tina and Greg’s home where the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready for the day. And I loved that Tina shared the morning with her grandkids, too! As hair and makeup wrapped up at the house, it was time to travel to the church for the ceremony.

The couple chose the St. George Catholic Church for their wedding ceremony as it’s their home church, near and dear to their hearts. Father Dan shared a beautiful ceremony with the couple and their closest family and friends. Then, it was time for the bridal party to travel to Governor Small Memorial Park in Kankakee for a few photos before celebrating at the reception. I truly cannot tell you how gorgeous and easy going this day was!

The bridal party – filled with Tina and Greg’s close friends and Greg’s sons – was amazing for photos. Then, I loved spending some time with the couple for photos, too. The couple, the location, the flowers… It was so fitting for Tina and Greg!

Tina and Greg’s wedding day featured a vintage and antique details along with touches of gray, navy blue, and white. From the vintage style invitations to antique centerpieces to the DIY photo booth – all the details came together. Their vision truly came alive. This was such a lovely day with two people who love each other dearly! We loved photographing these two and the special people in their life at their Kankakee County Fairgrounds wedding.
