You guys, I have all the HEART EYES over this couple and their Deer Grove Forest Preserve engagement session!
Meet Jessica and Mike. These two lovebirds are tying the knot next year! Jessica and Mike met while working as youth counselors at a residential treatment facility for youth. They both coached sports teams for their programs and would see each other often, but they didn’t know each other well. As time went on, they kept running into each other at work or at the same post-work gatherings. Then, Jessica told me, she felt that she had to get to know this person. Once Jessica leaned in, the connection she felt earlier on sparked quickly. A few months later, Mike moved to the northwest suburbs of Chicago for a job. They spent 6 months long-distance dating before they went all in and Jessica made the move, too! Now, four years, a puppy, and a proposal later, they’re planning the wedding day of their dreams.
Over the past few months, I’ve loved planning the details of this engagement session with Jessica and Mike. They’re so easygoing and trusting of me, and it makes my job THAT much more joyful. On the day of their session, there was a quick (I mean quick!) 30-second rain on me when I was a few minutes from the session location… I think mother nature just needed to get a little more rain out of her system that day! Then, we were so thankful for the most gorgeous evening. I mean, these engagement photos at Deer Grove Forest Preserve are gorgeous. I think you’ll agree!
Jessica and Mike are the sweetest couple to work with! They were so photogenic and got comfortable in front of the camera pretty quickly. It was also a joy to meet their maid of honor, Nancy, as she helped us with their puppy in photos. And oh yeah, and I cannot forget to share that their pup Jax basically stole the show… Keep scrolling and you’ll understand why!
Enjoy a few favorites from this session – can’t wait for the wedding!
