This Naperville Riverwalk anniversary session was one for the books!
Meet Zenobia and Hoor! I’ve had the honor of knowing this couple for the past few years after I photographed Hoor’s brother’s wedding (see Julia and Ali’s wedding here!) and worked closely alongside Zenobia during the planning process. This couple is amazing!
Their story goes back to when they met at a mutual friend’s birthday party when they were 14 and 16. Zenobia told me that it was love at first sight for her, and she immediately had a crush on Hoor! Fast forward several years (after prayers and Zenobia’s not-so-subtle hints to Hoor in high school that he just didn’t pick up LOL) to the day these two met again at a mutual friend’s wedding. They hadn’t seen each other in six years, and Hoor asked Zenobia out! At the time, she was in a relationship, so the timing just wasn’t right again…
After going separate ways with her college boyfriend and going out on many, many dates, the stars finally aligned for Zenobia and Hoor – all in perfect timing. They were finally together and in love! The following year, Hoor planned a surprise proposal at Zenobia’s school classroom in front of her students. Two years later, they were married while celebrating with an entire month of Pakistani and American wedding traditions! Now, Zenobia and Hoor have been happily married for 14 years and share a beautiful life with their three adorable daughters. I just love these people!
When I was still photographing family sessions a few years ago, we tried to line up schedules but it never worked out to photograph this sweet family. Now this year, it finally happened! I loved celebrating this couple – despite their busy life and family and everything in their world – and giving them a reason to focus on each other and where it all started. That’s exactly why I do what I do and why I love anniversary sessions so much.
On the evening of their session, we met at the Naperville Riverwalk for their photos. And friends, it was the most perfect evening for Zenobia and Hoor! We spent time catching up and wandering along the riverwalk. These two are a breath of fresh air and so kind and genuine. I’m lucky to know them and just wish we lived closer for a dinner date or cup of coffee every once in a while!
This anniversary session was so good, and I truly loved celebrating these two with photos! Enjoy some favorites!!
