Happy September, friends!

I always find it funny how I am never ready for the fall season as the month of August comes to an end… All of the pumpkin spice, fall decor, and even autumn candles start rolling out, and while I am sometimes tempted to start the fall season early, I always resort to enjoying the last bits of summer. But come mid-September? I will decorate for fall and embrace the season! Right now, I’m loving the last few days of summer – my very favorite season each year.

The month of August was so so good to us. The month started out with an unexpected weekend home together, an impromptu garage sale, and celebrating my parents’ 39th wedding anniversary! Then, on August 5th, I spent the day with my amazing friends Amy and Autumn meeting Jenna Kutcher in Chicagoland… She is so inspiring!

Then the first full week of August brought a couple meetings with brides, weekend wedding prep, and the best of all? The birth of my niece, Sofia! The lack of sleep that week was well worth it. And to round out the week, we traveled to Jacksonville to photograph an amazing couple on their wedding day. What a week it was!

As the month rolled on, I photographed a few more sessions, met with new brides (LOVE THEM!), and gathered on the second Tuesday with my favorite local creatives at our TuesdaysTogether meeting. And finally, that third weekend of the month brought a wedding on the ever so popular 8/18/2018, and it was a joy. In between all of this, we kept on gardening… And canned juice from SO many tomatoes from our garden and my dad’s tomato plants, canned homemade salsa, and we even prepped fresh peaches and got them ready to freeze for the winter. We are going to be so thankful we took the time to do all of this when the cold weather hits!

The last weeks of August brought another session, a trip to The Big Fake Wedding in Chicago with one of my favorites, wrapping up a super awesome beta program for female entrepreneurs, and a weekend OFF WORK spent with our college friends. We loved it so much! As the month rounded out, Kyle and I spent a lot of time preparing for our next business announcement (stay tuned on September 6th!), enjoying a couple slower days, and an ice cream date with my nephew Cooper.

Okay, okay… I will embrace fall soon, but for now, I am enjoying the last days of summer in early September!
