May was nutty, but we are thankful! Can you believe we are nearing the halfway mark of this year? Whoa!
The month of May started with our sweet Georgie girl’s third birthday! We celebrated with a little Taco Tuesday birthday party at our house complete with a Two Whisks Bakery cupcake, party hat, and photoshoot of the birthday girl. Yes, we are obsessed with her and a little crazy – you’re not telling us anything new 😉
Then we rolled into Kyle’s drill weekend and a day of mini sessions with my business. For the first time – I think ever – we had absolutely beautiful weather for the mini sessions, and I was sending up my praises and thanks to the Lord! After drill weekend, Kyle and I set out to start our garden. Let me tell you… We are learning so much in this gardening process (yes, it’s our first vegetable garden!), but we are working hard and hoping to have a bountiful harvest to share with our family and friends.
And then it was time for my mom’s birthday + Mother’s Day, and we loved spending time at a local greenhouse over her Mother’s Day weekend, too. The following week was a marathon between an AMAZING styled shoot with local creatives, a couple sessions, meeting with current and potential brides, and prepping for our trip to the Grand Canyon. In the month of May we had three weddings total (with three uniquely wonderful wedding days!) – all within an 8 day range – oh, and a Grand Canyon trip thrown in there, too. Talk about running around! But you know what? I wouldn’t have wanted to share those 8 eventful days and the experience with anyone else than my husband Kyle. After that marathon, we were tired, but so so happy.
About the Grand Canyon – we made a 5 day trip between weddings to photograph an elopement (watch for that blog post soon!) for one of our dear couples. It was an amazing trip (ask me about our 6 mile hike into the canyon – ha!), and if you ever have the opportunity to experience the Grand Canyon… Please GO! The beauty and vastness and inspiring creation still has me in awe of the wonder. Kyle and I talked a lot about how it was impossible not to feel Him throughout our time visiting the Grand Canyon.
Once we were home, we photographed wedding 3/3 for the month, went to our first Indy 500 race with family, and worked in our garden on Memorial Day. The last week of May brought our anniversary photo session with our friend Kate and an engagement session to round out the month.
At the end of May, we are thankful… For our jobs and our people and our clients and our friends and our family and these experiences that our life journey is taking us on. Thankful we can enjoy our days as husband and wife together!
