Say hello to the newlyweds! Emily and Travis shared a classic, elegant late fall wedding day at Maternity BVM in Bourbonnais and Tuscany Falls last month. What a beautiful day! We’re honored to share more about this couple and their wedding day on the blog today.
Meet the Couple
At the start of 2020, I met these two through one of our couples, Meredith and Ryan, and am forever thankful. Emily and Travis met in grad school and a few years later he proposed at the Grand Canyon. After visiting the Grand Canyon for the first time myself a couple of years ago, I can imagine that the proposal was absolutely breathtaking! These two are golf and family people – I just love that about them! Last fall, I photographed their engagement session when they were visiting family in Illinois from their home in Nebraska. They were originally planning for a 2020 wedding day but rescheduled to 2021, and we’ve loved celebrating them.
The Wedding Day
Emily and Travis’s wedding day started out with everyone getting ready for the day ahead! Emily’s parents welcomed us into their home for getting ready and detail photos, and it was a delight. One of my favorite moments of the morning was documenting Emily and her dad playing the piano together in her wedding dress. This was just a few moments before departing for the church, and it was so sweet. Then, it was time to get Emily and Travis married!
In the early afternoon of November 20th, Emily and Travis shared a beautiful ceremony at Maternity BVM. We always love weddings at this church in particular… It’s nearly in our backyard (we call Kankakee home!), and it’s truly beautiful. I think it’s a gem in our area, and it was perfect for Emily and Travis’s wedding ceremony. After the ceremony, we braved the chilly late fall air for photos on the ONU campus before traveling to the reception. And gosh, these photos are some of my favorites from this year’s weddings!
After the sun went down, it was time to celebrate the newlyweds! Emily and Travis hosted a fun reception at Tuscany Falls where the dance floor was packed all night long! We even got to say hey to another one of our 2021 couples, Meredith and Ryan, that introduced us to Emily and Travis – I love it! This was our first wedding at Tuscany Falls, and we hope to be back soon. It was a gorgeous venue to bring together Emily and Travis’s vision for a classic, elegant wedding day. Looking back on the day and night, everything perfectly fit these two and their style, and the day truly honored their love for one another!
