My first engagement session of 2023 — a library engagement session — is here!
Meet Lizzie and Jake! They met online right before the pandemic. Once the pandemic hit, they weren’t able to see each other in person for several months but kept in contact by texting, phone calls, writing letters, and FaceTime. Jake proposed to Lizzie around Christmastime last year. These two just celebrated their three-year anniversary and are planning their wedding day for this summer.
Just after the new year, Jake reached out to me about planning an engagement session. He’s a fellow entrepreneur and host of the Kankakee Podcast. We’ve been following each other’s work for a couple of years and virtually cheering each other on, so it was a joy to hear from him about photos in this season of life. It’s not lost on me that it’s such a blessing that my job helps me connect to the community and fellow entrepreneurs and small business owners… It’s one of my favorite parts of my job!
Now back to these to and their library engagement session! At the beginning of March, we met at the New Lenox Public Library for their library-themed engagement session. Lizzie works as a youth librarian at this very library, and both Lizzie and Jake thought the library would be a unique spot for their engagement photos. So we made it happen!
I loved exploring the library with them and finding some gorgeous morning light in the various spaces. We wandered all around, got to know each other better, and shared some laughs. This was the first time Lizzie and Jake had been professionally photographed, too — what an honor!
Enjoy some favorite library engagement photos of this couple!
