Hi friends! I’m excited to share a sweet session with you today!
During my time at Illinois College, I met Lakyn and always knew her as such a kind, caring lady… Oh, and she’s an obsessed dog momma, too, so we are practically soul sisters! When she got engaged this spring and reached out to me the day after the proposal, I was honored and could not wait to hear more about her wedding day. Soon enough, we were planning her engagement session and photography details for her wedding day coming up this November.
Lakyn and James both went to Illinois College and knew of each other, but it wasn’t until a few years after graduation that they connected at homecoming. They fell in love with each other and quickly couldn’t imagine life apart. They both told me that “when you know you know” and that’s the honest truth. These two are so fun and in love, and their joy is contagious!
On the day of their engagement session, it was a beautiful, beautiful day! Then, just a couple hours before the session, a few crazy summer storms popped up in the area, but we were still hopeful. I am SO glad we trusted our guts to let the session go on because we were blessed with a lovely evening for their session. And the air even cooled off a bit for us, too!
We started their session at Illinois College in Jacksonville, stopped by another local spot for outfit two, and then ended the session at Lake Jacksonville. What a wonderful end to a lovely evening with these two! And after spending just a couple hours with these two catching up – talking wedding and all things in between – I can definitely tell you that they have found a lifetime love in one another.
