In November of 2014, I photographed a beautiful late fall, early winter wedding. Little did I know at the time that one of the bridesmaids and her then boyfriend would come back into my life shortly after…

Fast forward a few months after Lauren and Eric’s wedding — I received an email from a lovely lady named Kylee, and guess what? She was ENGAGED! You see, Kylee was that specific bridesmaid at that November 2014 wedding. Looking back, I distinctly remember witnessing Kylee’s joy to be standing beside one of her best friends on that day. I also fondly remember snapping a series of photos of Kylee and Dean, her boyfriend, dancing the night away at the reception.

So, you can imagine my excitement when Kylee told me that she was engaged and looking for a wedding photographer for the #ousleypartyoftwo. It is a true honor that she thought of me and my work when this exciting time of wedding planning started in her life!

In our initial conversations, Kylee told me that she and Dean met through mutual friends, and shortly after meeting, she knew he was the “one’. She told me that they had spent nearly every day together since that first meeting, and he proposed after they had been together for seven months.

When I asked Kylee about the most important aspects of her wedding day, she responded with… “When I look back on my wedding day, I just want to have beautiful memories of celebrating with my friends and family. I want to be able to look back and remember every little detail.” Right then and there, I knew this was a girl after my heart and that we would be a perfect fit. I love approaching a wedding day with the perspective of remembering every little detail.

Soon after booking their engagement and wedding photography, Kylee and Dean made a big move from Indiana to place roots in South Carolina. I have loved following their journey through the move, buying a house, planning a wedding, and now starting a family!

Their engagement session took place on a fun and joyful August morning in Kentland, Indiana while they were home visiting for Dean’s brother’s wedding. It was evident then (and it sure is now), but one thing is for sure… These two are truly surrounded by love and support in their circle of family and friends!

Over the months, I have been anticipating Kylee and Dean’s wedding day with high hopes for an amazing day. I will be the first to tell you that their day did not disappoint! This couple was ready to go, relaxed, and up for anything I suggested. I could still just squeeze these two with love and hugs for being so amazing to work with!

Kylee and Dean wrote their own vows for their wedding ceremony and brought their family and friends (and me) to tears. It was a heartfelt and emotional wedding ceremony that I will never forget. Then, soon enough, it was time to let loose and dance the night away! Kylee and her bridesmaids took over the dance floor and radiated joy throughout the evening. The celebration was beautiful!
