Karlie and Stephen’s engagement session marked the first engagement session of 2018 on the books!
This couple is just simply sweet, and I am so thankful that I connected with them last November. Karlie found my work online via Facebook, and now I’m excited to be working with the couple as their wedding photographer!
These two met six years ago while attending Northern Illinois University and fell in love. They told me that they have been nearly inseparable ever since meeting – so so sweet! These two are adventurers and love to travel, and both of their souls have found their mate. Last June, Stephen proposed to Karlie shortly after they adopted a new puppy. Now, these two live and work in Seattle with their sweet puppy Teddy. And in this season of life, Karlie and Stephen are planning their wedding day on what will be their seven year anniversary… I LOVE IT! You know seven is my favorite!
Over the last month or so we’ve been planning the details of their Bloomington-Normal, Illinois engagement session. I always love having a handful of winter engagement sessions and finding beauty in the season outdoors. This session did not disappoint! We started the session at DESTIHL Brewery in Normal. The brewery was the perfect backdrop for these craft beer (and wine) lovers, and it was a perfect way to truly cater to what these two enjoy and show a little glimpse into their everyday life and adventures together right now.
After spending a little time at the brewery, we traveled to Fransen Nature Center in Normal for some more outdoorsy images. We were thankful for a 45 degree January day (I know, I know it wasn’t quite as warm as their Seattle weather was at the time!) and even a little sun peeking through the clouds. This is one of my favorite locations in Bloomington-Normal because it is simple without frills and the grasses are wild. I was so happy with the colors in these photo between the beautiful couple AND location!
