This session with baby Beau and his family was pure sweetness! Beau was the sleepiest little guy and made photographing his newborn session a dream. Big sister Saige was equally sweet, and I loved capturing the connection between these two already. There’s something so special about documenting a growing family in these early days – it’s an honor I never take lightly!
One thing I always like to share with parents – especially those with little ones – is the importance of setting expectations and setting the tone for your session. Trust me, I get it! Preparing for a photo session can be a lot. Outfits, naps, feedings, getting everyone dressed and out the door – it’s a whole thing. And sometimes, just getting to the session on time is a major win!
But here’s the truth: little ones feed off our energy. If we walk into a session feeling stressed or overwhelmed, chances are, our kiddos will pick up on that, too. I want you to know it’s okay if your toddler isn’t into photos that day. It’s okay if this is the first time you’ve worn “real clothes” and put on makeup since bringing a new baby home. It’s okay to meet yourself and your family exactly where you’re at.
The most important thing is to embrace the season you’re in. These days are fleeting, and they’re worth documenting just as they are – imperfect, real, and full of love. Let go of the pressure and know that I’ve got you. We’ll capture the magic together, no matter what.
