There’s a first for everything, and I think that Kaitlin, Drew, their wedding party, and families would agree… This wedding day was one of the warmest!

Despite the heat, Kaitlin and Drew’s wedding day was gorgeous with intricate details, character, and overflowing with love and joy. Last October, Kaitlin’s sister, Carmen, contacted me about wedding photography, and I was excited to hear from her as we attended Illinois College together. It’s always fulfilling and fun to make connections and see people from college during other stages in life!

After Kaitlin and Drew booked photography services with me, we talked back and forth many times leading up to their September 5, 2015 wedding day. On their day, I was delighted to meet Kaitlin and her bridesmaids while they were getting ready. They were so sweet and welcomed me in with open arms! I felt like I had known these girls for a lot longer than a few minutes!

After getting ready, these two opted for a first look, and I loved it! The first moment Kaitlin set her eyes on Drew was beautiful and full of pure emotion. Seeing joyful tears flow from Kaitlin’s eyes made my eyes swell with tears of joy, too.

Even though we were shooting in the middle of the afternoon and heat, everyone made the day all about Kaitlin and Drew becoming one. Their bridal party was supportive and caring for these two and made it a day to remember. I have to say that this wedding was such a fun, comfortable, and laid-back atmosphere. It definitely reflected Kaitlin and Drew’s personalities!

At sunset, we set out for a few more photos, and I’m so happy that we did! We were graced with a beautiful evening and an even more beautiful sunset.
