The weekend before Easter, I was so excited to photograph CayLee and Ryan’s engagement session. Prior to becoming their engagement and wedding photographer, I “knew” these two through mutual friends and family members, but I had probably never actually been introduced. I am so thankful that their engagement and my business made us really meet!

CayLee and Ryan are as sweet as can be and genuinely happy. Their joy to be with one another is beautiful to watch unfold. I loved that these two wanted to incorporate a big part of their love story into their engagement session… Softball.

These two met playing softball in Kankakee, Illinois and actually play the 6-7 months throughout the year! Even though they had met playing softball, they ran into one another while they were both out and about one evening, starting talking, and now, almost two years later, they’re engaged!

Ryan proposed late on Christmas Eve, and his mom was able to video the proposal! I loved watching the two of them light up with joy as they relived their proposal story with me. 

So, our session started out at the Olivet Nazarene University baseball field so that we could incorporate their love for softball and how they met. We used their softball gear, “Mr. & Mrs.” shirts, and focused on their love and laughter. We have so many fun shots from this location!

Next, we visited Perry Farm for a more outdoorsy location, and I got to meet their puppy dog Marley! Mr. Marley wasn’t thrilled about having his photo taken, but he did perk up for a few – he was playing hard to get! You might have guessed, but I LOVE incorporating pets into engagement, and even family sessions, since I’m a #proudpuppymomma myself!
