A few weeks ago, Kyle and I joined Alyson and Travis on their wedding day… What a beautiful, warm May day they were blessed with!

Throughout the years, we have known Travis, and Kyle grew up going to school with him. So, when Alyson reached out to me about wedding photography, we were honored! You may remember these two from their engagement session last September, too. In 2015, these two met in Milford (where we went to high school!) after Alyson moved to the town for a teaching job at the high school. — I love all of the connections in this story! — Then, in April 2017, Travis proposed to Alyson! These two value family and faith and love spending time with their rescue pup, Baxter. Of course, we totally bonded over the rescue puppy life!

On the day of their wedding, the morning started out slowly as the girls (and guys) got ready and prepared for the day ahead. And the girls were even ready a little early! Soon enough, we moved into a sweet first look between Alyson and Travis, and the day started to fly by.

I think we were all surprised by how warm their May 19th wedding day truly was… What we thought would be a 75-80 degree day ended up being over 90 degrees. But we were thankful for clear skies and sunshine!

Throughout this wedding day, there were a handful of thoughtful details that I loved. Alyson’s bouquet was decorated with various brooches belonging to ladies in her family (her grandma and great grandma) along with a beautiful handkerchief from her grandmother. The bride also wore earrings and another ring that were gifts from Travis. Oh, and I cannot forget the beautiful watch Alyson wore that belong to her great grandmother. And lastly, all of the wedding festivities took place on Travis’s family’s property out in the country. How memorable!

This wedding day was intimate and filled with all of Alyson and Travis’s people. And the icing on the cake was the beautiful sunset that we ended the day with!
