There are some families who have been with me since the very beginning, and the Walver family is one of them.
I’ve been photographing the Walvers since I first picked up a camera back in high school. I photographed them as one of my first families, and all these years later, they’re still in front of my lens. How sweet is that? It’s wonderful to look back and realize just how many seasons of life we’ve shared through photos.
The Walver family holds such a special place in my heart. Vicki babysat my sister and me when we were little, and years later, my sister and I both babysat the older Walver boys when we were high schoolers. Now, those “little” boys are grown, the younger ones are growing like weeds, and their oldest is getting married next year! Time truly flies.
One of the greatest gifts of this job is getting a front row seat to families growing and changing over the years. Photographing these milestones – from childhood and family photos to engagements and weddings – is such an incredible honor. The Walvers aren’t just clients; they’re family. And I wouldn’t want anyone else to be the one documenting their story through the years.
What a joy it is to photograph this family that feels like family!
