Julie and Paul are MARRIED! And it’s an honor to share their timeless and classic Chicago wedding on the blog!
After connecting with these two in December 2019 through a mutual friend at Lauren Elizabeth Bridal, I’ve loved getting to know this couple! They are kind, down to earth, and so fun to spend time with! Their engagement photos earlier this fall were a hit, and I’ve been looking forward to their wedding day for months.
From the Bride
My aunt introduced us 7 years ago… I knew he was the one when the first time we met, didn’t feel like people meeting for the first time. Everything was effortless and easy flowing.
Fast forward to when he proposed, and I ruined everything! I did not want to come over to his house (where he asked me) – I did not feel good. So the first thing I did was take a shower and put on sweatpants, an old t-shirt, and had wet hair. I sat on his couch waiting for him to come and watch a movie and started picking my nail polish – ooops! He told me to stop, and I didn’t see the problem! I told him that I would get my nails done the following day, and it was no big deal. Immediately after I said that his face got red and he started to get tears in his eyes… I started to laugh because I did not think that there was any way he would possibly ask me to marry him in the state I was in! Sure enough, he got down on one knee and asked and it was the best most genuine proposal I could have imagined.
We love to travel (when it’s allowed of course), being with family is HUGE for us, and we also love to be on or near water. Something about a body of water that is just relaxing! Recently, we love spending time with our puppy Nelly!
The Wedding Day
God gave Julie and Paul the most beautiful 80-degree fall wedding day. I mean, it really cannot get better than that! We started the day at Julie’s parents’ home where Julie was getting ready while Paul was with the dads getting ready at his house. I loved photographing details like Julie’s grandmother’s engagement ring. Sweet sentiments like this were laced all throughout the day!
Then, we traveled to Julie’s home church in Orland Park for their wedding ceremony. Their ceremony included 15 of their closest family members all in one place. The ceremony was emotional and beautiful, and we are all so thankful that these two are married.
After the ceremony and family portraits, we traveled downtown for newlywed photos with the couple to round out the day! I absolutely loved this part of their day… Running around the city shooting photo (and video!) alongside my hubby Kyle with Julie and Paul – priceless! We had so much fun from stopping by the Kimpton Gray for prosecco to photos at the Chicago Board of Trade, Wrigley Building, and skyline – it was perfect! We truly loved getting to celebrate these two in a unique way on their intimate wedding day. It all works out even despite pivots and challenges along the way. Julie and Paul were meant to be, and I have to say that marriage looks really good on these two!
Julie + Paul – Thank you, thank you, thank you… Kyle and I adore you both and loved documenting your wedding day! We’re looking forward to next year’s celebration, too!
