I’ll be honest, it truly wasn’t until I became a wedding photographer that I realized the importance of a day-of coordinator on wedding days.
Just think about it for a moment… You spend months (sometimes years) planning your wedding – setting a budget, gathering inspiration for your wedding day style, researching + booking vendors, dress shopping, invitations + RSVPs, timelines, ring shopping, rehearsal, and so much more! Wouldn’t it be perfect if there was someone that could make sure all of those details fall into place seamlessly on your wedding day? Girlfriend, I’ve got you!
Meet my friend Michaela Mantarian – floral design and event extraordinaire. This girl knows her stuff… She designs breathtaking bouquets, coordinates wedding days flawlessly, and has taught me a thing or two about day-of coordinators on wedding days. So what better way to dive into this topic than to share my sweet friend’s wisdom with you!
I get asked often if hiring a day-of coordinator is really worth it. And without a doubt, I have to say yes. I know that spending a little extra money to just have another person around during your big day can seem unnecessary. But a coordinator is more than just an extra body or an investment for your event. A coordinator is your insurance. He or she is in place to make sure that all those other investment pieces you’ve paid for (like flowers, photography, and your cake) run smoothly and effectively.
Coordinators are the extra helping hand that put a buffer between you and all the elements of your day that you want to run smoothly. If you think about all the time and effort and money you put into your big day, it seems silly to not put a little piece of protection around you vision. Think of your coordinator as a piece of bubble wrap that hugs your precious china, otherwise known as your wedding day. While a day-of coordinator can’t insure your day will be run without a hitch, he or she can add an extra layer of protection and caution to the day you’ve been dreaming of all along. They are an extra set of eyes, ears, and hands ready to take on whatever the day may hold and protect the vision that you cast.
Coordinators aren’t just an investment, they’re insurance. They hold your hopes, dreams, wishes, and wants close and make every effort to make sure that the dream you’ve been dreaming comes to life.
And there you have it, friends! I truly believe working with a day-of coordinator on your wedding day will make sure your wedding dreams come true!
