Alyssa and Paul’s wedding day at The BRIX is here!
This wedding day was just one of those warm-your-heart, feel-good wedding days throughout each and every moment. I can’t help but smile as I write this blog post and look back on this wedding day. Alyssa and Paul recently welcomed their first son into the world, so this wedding day was definitely extra sweet.
From The Couple
Paul and I met in college at Illinois State University. We’re big foodies, love to spend our time with family and friends, and we have 2 dogs, a cat, a turtle, and a newborn son that keep us very busy! My favorite part of the wedding planning process is seeing it all come together in the end.
Advice for Engaged Couples
Never make assumptions – communication is the key to preventing arguments. Also, never stop pursuing your partner even after marriage (and especially when you have kids).
The Wedding Day
The day started with the girls getting ready at Shine Salon & Dry Bar in downtown West Dundee before the wedding party made their way to The BRIX to get dressed and really kick off the day. Throughout this wedding day, it was a joy to be back at The BRIX to celebrate an amazing couple.
Once everyone was ready, it was time for Alyssa and Paul to share a sweet first look. One of my favorite parts of their day! Then, their wedding party joined them for photos and fun before we traveled to the church to get these two married!
Alyssa and Paul shared a beautiful Catholic mass ceremony. I loved that Alyssa and Paul chose to get married at Alyssa’s home church – St. Catherine of Siena. I’ll always be thankful to have captured the photos of Paul and his son watching Alyssa walk down the aisle. You could truly feel the love in the room for them during the ceremony and that love carried into the reception celebration back at The BRIX that evening.
And you know Alyssa is a girl after my heart with her love for neutral vibes… Heart eyes! I loved seeing her wedding vision come to life and celebrating all the details and small + big moments through photos.
When I look back on the memories and photos of this day, I cannot help but smile. Alyssa and Paul are some of the best people, and I’m thankful to know and love them. The day was such a reflection of who these two people are as a couple and parents to their new son. What a joy! Photographing their wedding day was a true honor!
