Gosh, where to begin with this couple and wedding day? We loved celebrating Michele and Timmy on their summer wedding day at the Hyatt Regency in Schaumburg!
I first met Michele and Timmy through another one of our amazing couples, Julie and Paul. Michele and Julie are best friends, so it was an absolute honor to be asked to document her wedding day, too! We have so much love for these two couples and are thankful to call them friends.
It’s a joy to share more about Michele, Timmy, and their wedding day on the blog!
From the Bride
We met via Julie and Paul. Julie, Paul, and I were at a boozy brunch and Julie decided she was going to text Timmy and play matchmaker, although Tim lived in Colorado at the time. We talked for a month before he came to Illinois for Christmas. We met at Coopers Hawk – we hit it off and dated long-distance for about a year before Timmy moved back to Illinois.
Timmy proposed on the rooftop of our first apartment together. Of course, Julie and I went to margaritas before and she led me to the rooftop and peeked through the door the whole time. Wouldn’t have it any other way!
Advice for Engaged Couples
Breathe… It is a very overwhelming process but worth it. No one remembers your centerpieces or the flowers. What they will remember is the love that was in the room that day. Don’t lose sight of that. Oh, and drink wine whenever wedding planning – totally helps!
The Wedding Day
Michele and Timmy’s wedding day started and ended at the Hyatt Regency in Schaumburg. I’ll never forget walking into the bridal suite that morning… You know it’s going to be a good wedding day when a big bootie mix is playing during getting ready! Throughout the morning, everyone was so excited for the day ahead – the energy and excitement was contagious!
Once everyone was ready for the day, off to the church we traveled! Michele and Timmy shared a Catholic mass ceremony at Michele’s childhood church. It was a beautiful ceremony where Michele and Timmy were surrounded by their loved ones.
After the ceremony, it was time to celebrate! We stopped at Busse Woods for photos with the wedding party and newlyweds… It was a dream! Busse Woods is such a gorgeous location, and it’s a huge plus that it’s only a few minutes from the Hyatt Regency. And oh, just wait until you see the epic champagne pop with the wedding party – too much fun!
All throughout the afternoon as we took photos and video footage of the day, I couldn’t help but smile and feel incredibly thankful for Michele, Timmy, and their loved ones. Everyone welcomed us in and made us feel like we were family and friends. Plus, I loved getting to spend the day with two of my brides – past and present – Julie and Michele. We couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to spend the day with!
The evening kicked off with a beautiful indoor and outdoor cocktail hour for Michele, Timmy, and their loved ones. Then, it was time to celebrate! Some of my favorite moments of the day were at the reception when Michele’s dad gave a welcome toast and getting to document Michele and her dad dancing together. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t thankful to have a camera in front of my face to hide my tears!
At the end of the day, Michele and Timmy’s wedding was just what they envisioned – a beautiful celebration with these two truly living in the moments of their wedding day while surrounded by their family and friends.
Best Wishes for the Couple
