My first outdoor family session of the year is in the books!
After long midwest winters, the first days of spring, sunlight, green grass, and blooms light my soul up. I absolutely love our natural light studio, but it’s such a refresh to finally get to be outside. Nothing can compare to chasing sunsets and beautiful light in the warmer months. This is the first of many outdoor family sessions coming this spring, summer, and fall!
Do you remember the Evans family?! Derek (Kyle’s oldest brother) and Erin are my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and it’s been a joy to document their life together since they got engaged in 2014. This family has grown and changed so much since their wedding back in 2015.
Last spring, the Evans family moved to nearly seven acres of land in Central Illinois – it’s the most beautiful land and place for their growing family… And the sunsets are gorgeous! We’ve loved seeing them make this place their home and look forward to seeing their family continue to grow in the place they call home. This spring, the Evans family is welcoming another baby boy to the family!
At the start of May and a few weeks before Erin’s due date, I loved running around their land and backyard for maternity photos and this family’s last photos as a family of four. This was probably my favorite family session for the Evans family yet. The two little boys in these photos – my nephews Cooper and Hudson – have my heart. We ran around, played, and the boys loved Aunt Kara being silly and tickling them throughout the session. They are growing so much and are obsessed with Uncle Kyle right now. We’re so excited to welcome a new little love and baby boy to the family in the next few weeks!
