Wedding days are often the first time I meet my couple’s family members… And I love it! It’s so fun to meet their people + meet those people that have encouraged, supported, and loved them throughout the years.
When planning for wedding photos with my couples, I always work with them to come up with a family formal photo list. This list is SO incredibly helpful to me on wedding days so that I can ensure I document all the family photos the couple wants. I always recommend limiting this list to immediate family (parents, siblings, grandparents, nieces/nephews). Then, at the reception if there are larger group photos needed, we have plenty of time and space for those photos!
I always recommend listing these photos out (with names, too) so that we can keep on track! Something like…
Bride with Bride’s Parents (John + Jane)
B+G with Bride’s Parent’s (John + Jane)
Bride with Bride’s Siblings (Kate + James)
B+G with Bride’s Siblings (Kate + James)
B+G with Bride’s Parents + Siblings (John, Jane, Kate, + James)
…And the list goes on!
As you’re planning your family formal list, I hope these little bits of advice help – Hugs!
