October was soooo good to us! I’m going to try to remember it all for this recap, and I know I’ll be sad if I miss anything!

The month started out with a hilarious evening… I convinced Kyle to go to a local hot yoga class with me – little did he realize that it was HOT yoga not “just” a yoga class. This left us with some great laughs + jokes + memories! And yes, we were sore for days as I usually am after a 75 minute hot yoga class! LOL.

Then, we rolled into hosting my cousin’s ADORABLE bridal shower (see below!) + sessions + weddings (and brewery events for my hubby) and kind of fought the weather throughout the month. I’ll be honest, I’ve been trying NOT to stress out about this fall’s unpredictable weather and just be. So even while the weather has been far less than favorable at times (okay – let’s be real honest, most times this month), I’m rolling with the punches and making the best of these days. What a shift of perspective to find beauty in our days in a different way!

By the middle of the month, my birthday celebration began… Two days early! My hubby brought home cupcakes from my fav bakery, Two Whisks Bakery, and we totally started the celebration early. I probably shouldn’t admit this, but I enjoyed some form of birthday cake FIVE DAYS in a row… Lol. What can I say?! I love cake. Plus, I shared my Saturday birthday with an amazing couple, Kristin and David, and it was seriously the best day!

Shortly after my birthday, I had the most fun girls night with my sister and my sister-in-law’s at Grapes & Hops. We made the most adorable Pinterest pumpkin craft – see if you can find the photo of them in my collage below. And this little craft night was the perfect activity to get my fall juices rolling to go to Covered Bridge Festival the next day with my sister-in-law’s. Yes, I returned home with an awesome haul of fall + winter decor, but HEY I came home under budget 😉

October 19th (post-Covered Bridge explorations) brought a fun evening with my best gal Amy at The Majestic for a Facebook Live feature. I’ll give you one hint about the video… There’s a special guest at the end and her name starts with a “G”.

And throughout this month, I also traveled throughout Central Illinois a bit and spent several days between Springfield + Jacksonville for engagement sessions and commercial photography work – so fun to be back in our old neck of the woods! It’s just crazy to see how things have changed.

I also can’t forget that we had our first trick-or-treater in our new place… Our niece Anna Pixley the Flamingo. I can’t even! But I have to say that Kyle and I were a bit disappointed to only pass out candy to 5 trick-or-treaters on Halloween. #hidethecandybucket

And of course – you guessed it, we spent this month showering Georgie with so much love and kisses, too. Oh, and Kyle (with the help of my dad and brother-in-law) built a shed in our backyard because WHY NOT?!

October 2017, it’s been real!
