When you are given a 73 degree day in the beginning of March, it must be a glorious gift from above! And, guess what? Michelle and Isaac’s engagement session happened to take place on that beautiful, yet windy, March day.
In January, I had the honor of meeting Michelle for the first time at The Elegant Bridal Expo in Champaign. That evening, when I arrived home from the expo, I received an email from Michelle saying, “My fiancé and I LOVE your work and think we would have a blast getting our photos done with you!” This made my heart nearly explode with joy!
So, on the day of their engagement session, I was excited to meet Michelle for the second time and to meet her fiancé, Isaac, for the first time. The session took place on and around the University of Illinois campus, a location these two were familiar with because of their theatre days in college. I loved walking, talking, and photographing these two.
A few years ago, Michelle and Isaac met at The Huron Playhouse in Ohio – Isaac’s home state – and quickly fell in love! Throughout the last couple of years, they have had a long distance relationship and are excited to start their married life together in August. They are quirky, funny, and genuinely such sweet people.
Even after knowing them for a short amount of time, I can easily see that they truly care for one another and their future together! Each of them takes time to listen to the other and fill the other person with positivity, laughter, and joy.
Here are a couple fun facts about their engagement session outfits…
- Their first set of outfits is the exact outfits that they got engaged in! The two were at a church event when Isaac got down on one knee and completely surprised Michelle. I loved that they wanted to incorporate those outfits into their engagement session!
- The next outfit featured their “The Huron Playhouse” t-shirts… Remember? It was where they first met!
- Okay, their third outfit choice didn’t necessarily have any sentimental meaning, BUT the clothing coordinated perfectly with a super cute, funky bench (and springy outdoor colors) at the University of Illinois Arboretum!
